Couple time

I am so glad to be heading to Married Couples Retreat this year. Last year I was sick & didn't enjoy it. I feel great health wise and decently mental-health wise. :-) We both could really use the relaxation. I am hopeful & excited....uhoh, that probably means I'll be disappointed. ;) This will be my sister's first year with her husband, so that should be nice. Plus it's 2 1/2 days straight with Jim!! He won't have to think about work at all. Yay. No tv either. Lots of time in the room...I am realllly looking forward to it.

I am getting ready to head out, I am not really looking forward to it. I have this friend who adores me...unless others are around & then I am ignored. It feels like High School again. How lame. Oh well, time to bite the bullet & follow the plan.

Random Thoughts

Jim finished HP 7 at around 5:30 this morning! We had a lovely discussion about it. I am very proud of him, he finished it in less than a week. That is really good for him.

We are at his mother's right now. Watching the race. Wow, do I have a big headache. I guess I am like a guy when it comes to sports, I want everyone to shut up and let me watch the race! And they do not cooperate here. But this is the first race I have been able to watch for 2 months, so I am just trying to sit and enjoy it. Beggars can't be choosers

My brother & Sister-in-law are on their way to pick up their new child...I pray they have a safe trip. I can't wait to meet our new nephew!! He should be home by the 8th, I think. There's something to look forward to.

Alrighty, it's time to watch the race!

Picking up my Harry Potter book...

I received my ticket for my book that was prepurchased for me for my birthday at the end of May. (There's a run-on sentence!!!) I carried it in my wallet all the time, afraid I would lose it :)

I arranged to meet Shandra in Muncie on Friday night after Jim got home from work. We left for the Bookstore around 10:30p and arrived there around 15 minutes later. It was crowded. There was a cute little girl dressed as Hagrid, a reallllly bad Severus Snape, and a lot of anonymous students from Hogwarts.

We didn't get in line until around 11:45p and had our book 15 minutes after they started handing them out. It was very efficient. All they did was scan our ticket & hand us our book which was already in a bag. After receiving our books, we headed to an all night diner. Shandra promised her husband we would not come back to the house & wake anyone up...and they are all light sleepers, so we had to stay away.

So, we got to the diner, placed an order & curled up in the booth to start our books. WE had fun reading, she kept yelling at me for getting ahead of her, we had a pot of coffee each, and had a lovely time until the bars closed & the drunkies showed up. It got really loud and Shandra could not concentrate so we left and headed back to her house...where we sat in the garage in Mitch's 67 pontiac. The whole 4 hours we were in the garage I felt ready to puke from the fumes. But Still I read on. Shandra got so annoyed because I have more bladder control than her and I only went to the restroom twice in 9 hours. She went about 5 or 6. We headed into the house around 7 'cause by then all the boys were up and we stopped so she could fix breakfast. Then we headed to the bedroom to finish up. I finished...only took 9 hours for me. And she finished about an hour later.

I did not get to discuss the book with her because we had to head home. ARGH! I want to talk to others who have read it sooooo bad! And Jim is of course NOT finished :(I am so happy to know all the answers, but sad it's over. I loved but I am in mourning for 3 well loved characters who were killed off.

I know it's been awhile since I posted...things have not been too great & I didn't want to write a bunch of depressing posts. But since it's been awhile & things are still progressing the same I will post something :)

I haven't been home much this week. I went to Indy to see a friend on Tuesday & came home last night around 9p. It was a trip. She is newly married (May of this year) and her marriage is soooo different from mine. I don't want to betray any confidences, so I am not going to go into details, but I really appreciate Jim & our relationship after my visit!

Most of the trip was fun though. They took us to a Japanese resteraunt for Dinner yesterday and I got to eat some sushi :) We got to watch the chef prepare our food, & she paid for mine for my birthday...It was a very belated birthday gift...but we couldn't get together last month.

Well, I smell that supper is done, so I'm gonna sign off & go chow down. :)

Summertime

This past weekend was a very busy one. On Saturday we had a birthday party for our 3 year old niece. It went well and afterwards Jim & I played in the water with her...I got alot of exercise playing with her. Alot of lifting :) We also celebrated Father's Day with Jim's dad.

And Sunday was just as fun & Busy. We celebrated Father's Day with my dad & our other niece was dedicated at church. That was emotional. She is 4 & normally she would have been dedicated when she was a baby but she wasn't & her parents decided to do it now. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal, but when my dad was up on stage (He is a minister & did her dedication) it really reminded me how important it is to give God everything in our lives. That has always been tough for me. They also showed pictures of her throughout the years. Seeing her baby pictures, I realized how much she is growing up. It's sad that her babyhood is over! But she is growing into a very special little girl. We have 2 nieces & 2 nephews and they are all so special, I am blessed to have these childern in my life.

WE also had a water war after we ate lunch on Sunday. It was fun. I didnt really run around with a gun & shoot, but I still got plenty wet! I spent most of the fight trying to get pictures & keep my camera safe. We has such fun & I bet we all slept deep, 'cause it was tiring.

All in all, it was a great weekend. :)
